Handspun yarn - Natural color Blue Faced Leicester (BFL) Wool, worsted weight, 400 yards - Natural Brown BFL

$40.00 USD

Quantity Available:     1 only

This is a naturally colored yarn in somewhat uncommon brown Blue Faced Leicester (BFL) wool. It is not quite as soft as white BFL, but still will be suitable for a wide range of projects.

This listing is for one two-ply skein, weighing 8.0 ounces., spun at an average of 800 ypp (yards per pound). These 400 yards wrap at about 8-12.

BFL sheep have distinctive long Roman noses, upright rabbity ears and blue skin that contrasts with their fine, soft wool. It is a long wool, with 25-27 micron diameter and 4.5" staple length. The wool is semi-lustrous, spins easily and dyes vividly. This yarn is a combination of that wonderful fleece with 25% tussah silk for added luxury and softness.

My skeins are wound on a full 2-yard niddy-noddy. If you don’t have a large swift, let me know. Spun in a smoke-free, pet-friendly home.
