This is a classic, vintage handweaving yarn from Scotland, probabaly dating to the 1950s. Beehive was a sub-brand of Patons & Baldwins. It was manufactured in Scotland, then imported to the USA, put up into 4 ounces tubes, and distributed by a company called Royal Society. Each tube is approximately 680 yards.

The Woodpecker name was used for line of lightly slubbed novelty yarns. These yarns are variegated brown/tan/white with occasional gold slubs. It is softer and less hairy than the Beehive Tweed yarns, but otherwise very similar.

We have three tubes, two with pristine labels and one unlabeled, plus a partially used tube weight 2.2 ounces.
