This is a classic, vintage handweaving yarn from Scotland, probably dating to the 1950s. Golden Rule was a sub-brand of Patons & Baldwins. It was manufactured in Scotland, then imported to the USA, and put up into 2 ounces tubes, Each tube is approximately 340 yards. This worsted-spun wool is somewhat hairy. 

This is actually the same base yarn as the Beehive Tweed yarn we have, but put up into 2-ounce rather than 4-ounce tubes.

We have three intact tubes, and two partially used tubes that together add up to more than one complete tube.
