Finn Humbug Wool Roving - Hint of Spring 2 - 4.1 ounces

$13.35 USD

Quantity Available:     1 only

This roving is shades of purple, teal, blue and chartreuse.

This is a hand painted roving, or more properly combed top, for hand spinning and felting.

Finn, also known as Finnish Landrace, is a hardy breed of sheep native to Finland. They thrive in rugged climates, and produce lambs early and often. The fleece is semilustrous and very open, with a variable crimp and a silky handle. This is a blend of natural colored white and brown wool, which we have overdyed. The blending process creates a striped effect, so the mill has called this "humbug" after its resemblance to a striped British candy. We apply the Humbug name to distinguish it from the other Finn varieties we carry.
The staple length is about 3" and the diameter 28-30 microns.

My rovings are dyed with fairly even distribution of colors. Photos are of each side of the coil, so you can see as much of the color as possible. These are the same rovings from which I spin my yarns, so I dye them for that.
