Quantity Available:     1 only

This handspun yarn is shades of brown and gray. It was hand painted in the wool here at Edgewood Garden Studio

This listing is for one 2-ply skein, weighing 3.9 oz., spun at an average of 1005 ypp (yards per pound), a worsted weight. These 245 yards wrap at approximately 8-12. Like most handspun, it is somewhat thick and thin.

BFL is a “multipurpose” sheep breed dating back from the early 1900’s which produce “litters” of three or four lambs with long loins. I’ll leave the rest to your imagination. Fortunately, they also have a beautiful soft, long wool that is especially easy to spin, so they are raised to maturity for their lustrous fleeces. This yarn is a combination of that wonderful fleece with 25% tussah silk for added luxury and softness.

My skeins are wound on a full 2-yard niddy-noddy. If you don’t have a large swift, let me know. Spun in a smoke-free, pet-friendly home.
